Water Leaks
26/October/2019 02:19 PM
I just wanted to send this message about the water leak that we had in the road. In the past we have used the services of a guy from Waynesville who has a backhoe who would come and help us with digging up the road when we have had a water leak. He was not available to us today. We don't like to have leaks go on for very long because they only get worse. We wanted to tackle this job today. Merle Kroeplin told me last night we can handle it with the tractor. The leak was close to 3-3 1/2 feet down into the road and thanks to the following who showed up on the site and volunteered to help digging with shovels when the front end loader could not: Harry Furniss and Randy Youngs. When you have the opportunity please verbalize or in other ways show your appreciation for their work and commitment to making this one of the best communities in Haywood County. I believe it is the best.
The project took approximately 3 1/2 hours and everyone has water. When we were leaving yesterday for church I noticed the wet spot in the road and a small stream of water going downhill. I told Susan.... we have a leak! Approximately an hour later I received a call from Don Zander about the wet spot and his concern. I would alert all of you that if you see an unusual wet spot in road when it hasn't been raining please let one of us know. You can call: Rick Elbracht, Harry Furniss, Merle Kroeplin, Randy Youngs or myself. Phone numbers are on the website at Valleyvistanc.us. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
